The SmartReader Plus 4 is a single-port pressure data logger designed to capture how air and compressed air systems behave over time. Rather than providing a momentary snapshot, it records pressure trends—along with temperature and optional humidity—so technicians and engineers can diagnose issues that only appear under real operating conditions.
It is well suited for applications where understanding changes, patterns, and system response is more important than a single absolute reading.
The SmartReader Plus 4 uses a single pressure port, meaning it measures pressure relative to ambient atmospheric pressure (gauge or absolute, depending on the selected model). This approach is ideal for trend-based diagnostics, where the goal is to observe how pressure rises, falls, or fluctuates as system conditions change.
Because it measures pressure at a single point, the SmartReader Plus 4 does not directly measure true differential pressure between two locations. Instead, it provides valuable insight into system behavior by showing how pressure at a given point responds over time to loading, airflow changes, or demand.
The SmartReader Plus 4 is available in multiple pressure ranges to suit different air and compressed air applications.
0–10 inches water column (inWC)
This range is best suited for airflow-related pressure measurements, such as:
Pressure drop trends across HVAC filters
Coil and heat exchanger pressure drop
Duct static pressure (supply or return)
Fan and air system performance diagnostics
This range is intended for airflow-induced pressures and system diagnostics—not for pneumatic control air or fine building pressurization measurements.
5 PSI and 30 PSI models
These models are well suited for:
Pneumatic control systems
Low-pressure compressed air lines
Actuators, regulators, and control air diagnostics
They align with typical pneumatic operating pressures and provide useful resolution for troubleshooting and performance evaluation.
100 PSI and 150 PSI models
These models are intended for:
Industrial compressed air systems
Equipment supply pressure monitoring
Compressor, regulator, and distribution system diagnostics
They are ideal for plant air systems operating in the 60–150 PSI range.
In addition to pressure, the SmartReader Plus 4 includes an internal ambient temperature sensor and supports an optional remote temperature and humidity probe. This allows pressure data to be viewed in the context of environmental conditions, which can be helpful when diagnosing air system behavior influenced by temperature or moisture.
For applications involving very small pressure differences or true differential pressure measurement, such as building pressurization, room-to-room pressure relationships, or cleanroom and healthcare environments, a dedicated differential pressure logger is recommended. For this, ACR offers the SmartReader Plus 4 LPD, a dual-port low-pressure differential data logger designed specifically for these applications. The LPD model is available in pressure ranges from 0.5 inches to 10 inches of water column and uses separate high (+) and low (–) pressure ports to measure true differential pressure.
In these cases, the SmartReader Plus 4 LPD is the appropriate choice when the pressure difference itself, rather than a single-point pressure trend, is the primary measurement of interest.

Data loggers are often used in highly regulated environments such as food and pharmaceutical production and storage where strict safety regulations apply. Regulatory agencies generally require proof of calibration.
ACR calibrations are performed using reference standards that have been calibrated and are traceable to the US National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST). This ensures that all ACR data loggers meet, and perform to, their published specifications, allowing you to be confident that they will assist you in achieving your compliance requirements.
Calibration certificates are provided with every calibration we perform. ACR Systems is an ISO 9001:2015 registered company and calibration records are kept as part of our quality system and can be made available for customer audits.
