Safely and easily measure AC current on standard plug-in appliances — even very low currents.
Most small appliances use a standard power cord that contains both the hot and neutral conductors bundled together. When you place a clamp-on current transducer (CT) around the entire cord, the opposing currents cancel each other out, giving you no reading at all.
The Line Splitter Multiplier solves this problem.
This compact accessory plugs in-line between an appliance and a North American 120 V outlet. It separates the hot conductor from the neutral so a clamp-on CT can measure the hot line directly — without any rewiring, cutting, or exposing wires.
The splitter also includes a built-in 10× current multiplier. This allows low-current devices to produce a stronger, more measurable signal. For example:
A device drawing 5–12 A becomes equivalent to 50–120 A when using the 10× multiplier
This lets you use a 250 A Current Transducer with excellent sensitivity
TrendReader TRX Software can automatically correct the reading using a custom equation (simply divide by 10)
This Line Splitter is rated for up to 15 Amps, matching standard North American outlet limits.
Separates hot and neutral conductors internally
Prevents the cancellation effect that makes clamp-on CTs read “zero” on standard cords
Ideal for plug-in appliances, tools, and electronic equipment
Boosts low-current readings for more accurate measurement
Greatly improves resolution when monitoring small or variable loads
TrendReader can automatically scale results using a simple divider (÷10)
Simply place the splitter between the outlet and the appliance
No cutting, splicing, or modifying cords
Safer and faster for technicians, engineers, and auditors
Perfect for integrating with ACR’s AC Current Transducer (e.g., 250 A model)
Provides the clean, isolated hot-line conductor needed for proper clamp measurements
Suitable for most small appliances and office equipment
Matches the rating of typical North American 120 V circuits

ACR software tools are intuitive and flexible, allowing you to easily configure ACR data loggers to collect the data you need. Once downloaded, your data is displayed in presentation-quality graphs and can be converted into popular formats for use with spreadsheet programs, document editors, and other third-party applications.
Data loggers are often used in highly regulated environments such as food and pharmaceutical production and storage where strict safety regulations apply. Regulatory agencies generally require proof of calibration.
ACR calibrations are performed using reference standards that have been calibrated and are traceable to the US National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST). This ensures that all ACR data loggers meet, and perform to, their published specifications, allowing you to be confident that they will assist you in achieving your compliance requirements.
Calibration certificates are provided with every calibration we perform. ACR Systems is an ISO 9001:2015 registered company and calibration records are kept as part of our quality system and can be made available for customer audits.
